Both deranged and delicate, GULP! is a lucid dream of the ordinary.

A clowning, physical comedy play.

Reviews

“A wildly inventive piece of physical comedy that turns absurdity into something playful, tender, and unexpectedly heartfelt.”

GULP! is a beautifully absurd physical comedy where an ordinary morning spirals into a full lifetime love story between Henry and… a banana. In just 30 minutes, Prith dances us through romance, marriage, family life, loss, and memory with playful commitment and surprising tenderness.

Prith’s performance is both silly and graceful. His movement has a balletic quality, and he uses the entire stage with creativity and joy. The props are simple but brilliantly imagined, transforming again and again in unexpected ways. His expressive eyes and physical storytelling carry the audience through every emotional turn, while the audience participation is light, welcoming, and perfectly balanced.

Beneath the absurdity is something quietly moving: a reminder that love and life are a little fragile, a little bruised, and wonderfully short. Henry dances us through it all with warmth and delight.

My one small hope for future versions would be slightly less time in the funeral slideshow and one more emotional Henry moment—perhaps a brief, bruised-hearted dance before the final beat. I want more Henry. I want a deeper emotional dip before the slip. I love this show it should by analyzed and taught in English and Theatre classes for years to come. Prith, keep it up, I am a fan.

A wildly imaginative piece that feels perfectly ripe with life and silliness.

10 leaping bananas out of 10. 🍌”

“GULP! Felt like classic Lecoq and/or Gaulier-style clown: A premise that was easy for the audience to follow, and lots of fun explorations and games within that premise. I loved the physicality, and Prith's acting was heartfelt and genuine. This show felt so relatable and was extremely clever with how everything was choreographed.”

“The eulogy wrecked me. I have a banana shaped hole in my heart now too.”

“The originality of the show was impressive, the physical comedy, the timing and the facial expressions were spot on”

“Gulp was hilarious. Prith is just such a unique character and he really makes me crack up in a way unlike anything I’ve experienced.”
